This petition and website were created to urge Oconee County and the State of Georgia to place a traffic light at the intersection of Hog Mountain Road and Rocky Branch Road.  Not only is this intersection congested and dangerous (the speed limit on Hog Mountain Road is 55 MPH, and the intersection is very congested with parents, students, and commuters trying to navigate one of 12 different lanes), this intersection serves a very high concentration of new drivers.  It seems to me that putting new drivers into this high-risk environment is similar to letting a 2-year old run with scissors!

What We Do

At TrafficLightsForSchools.org we seek to raise awareness about dangerous intersections that plague our schools.  Our activities include:

• petition signings,
• lobbying of our state and local representatives,
• attending state and local meetings, and
• providing education on the process to other schools
